● About

Building on History

The Ceramics Dept. is a community clay studio established by two former UArts alumni, Molly and Liz.

Located on the ground floor of the Village of Industry and Art (VIA) within Haviland Hall that was originally constructed in 1824. The space has been many things before - most recently, The University of the Arts up until the summer of 2024.

We’re happy to help keep the arts on The Avenue of the Arts. We offer monthly studio memberships, multi-week class series, special events, and one-time workshops taught by working Philadelphia-based artists.
